| Jurisdiction of the Mayor of the Municipality of PetrovoMayor’s jurisdiction is governed by the Law on Local Self-Government of the Republic of Srpska. On the basis of this Law Mayor of the Municipality of Petrovo:• proposes the Statute of the Municipality, • proposes decisions and other general acts to the Municipal Assembly, • makes drafts of the annual budget, annual balance sheet, economic plan, development plan, investment program, spatial and urban planning and other planning and regulatory documents related to the use and management of land, including the use of public land and submits the same to the Municipal Assembly for approval, • informs the Municipal Assembly on any matter within the jurisdiction of the Municipality, its rights and obligations, • implements local policies in accordance with the decisions of the Municipal Assembly, runs local budget and ensures the implementation of decisions and other general acts of the Municipal Assembly, • enforces laws and regulations of the city, whose execution was entrusted to the Municipality, • makes a decision on the establishing of the Municipal administration, • establishes rules of organization and job classification in the Municipal administration, • makes a plan of civil protection of the Municipality and ensures its implementation, • implements the cooperation of the Municipality with other municipalities, cities, international and other organizations in accordance with the decisions and conclusions of the Municipal Assembly and its relevant working bodies, • approves the statutes and other general acts of the companies and institutions established by the Municipality, • reports to the Municipal Assembly on its activities and work of the Municipal administration, • launches initiative to suspend a decision of a regulation, a general or an individual act brought by the Municipal Assembly, if He/She considers that it is contrary to the Constitution and law, until the decision of the Court of Law, • concludes contracts on behalf of the Municipality, in accordance with the regulations of the Municipal Assembly, • solves the second instance on appeals against first instance decision of the Municipal administration, if the matter is not subjected to the Republican authorities, • responsible for the legality of all documents proposed by the municipal assembly, • makes decisions on available funds in the manner prescribed by the Statute, • performs other duties prescribed by law and Municipal Statute. |
